Welcome to Healing Notes Therapy
Discover Expression. Find Community. Restore Harmony
People come to therapy for many different reasons, and none of them need to be dramatic to be valid. You may be navigating a difficult season, seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, looking to strengthen your relationships, or simply wanting a dedicated space to think.
Founded by Angie Lee (RP, MMT, MTA), a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Music Therapist, our practice provides a warm, compassionate place to land. Located in the intersection of Richmond Hill & Thornhill and serving clients virtually across Ontario, we integrate expressive and family-centred modalities, including music therapy, play therapy, somatic approaches for trauma therapy, and parent coaching and psychotherapy, to help you, your child, or your teenager discover your truest expression and replace years of "shoulds" with deep self-compassion.
What Makes Our Approaches Different?
Why Healing Notes Therapy
Authentic Connection Beyond Words
We meet you exactly as you are, never as a presenting problem, with genuine curiosity about who you are and what matters most. Self-expression shouldn’t be limited to talking. Therefore, we integrate music, play, and visual arts to help children, youth, and adults discover their truest expression.
Practical Family-Centred Care
When a child/youth is in therapy, the whole family is part of the process. We work alongside parents and caregivers to build confidence, reduce isolation, and make co-regulation a practical reality at home.
Your Whole Support Village
Meaningful progress doesn't happen in isolation. We hold space not only for you, but for the relationships and communities that surround and shape you.
Neurodiversity-Affirming & Multilingual
We honour both cultural and neurological difference. Our care is adapted to how your brain works, not how we think it should, because every mind deserves to be met with respect. We proudly offer sessions in English, Cantonese (廣東話), and Mandarin (普通话).

Your Path to Care
Free 15-Minute Client Consultation
No forms, no commitment.
Tell us what has been on your mind. We will listen, answer your questions, and together decide if Healing Notes Therapy is the right fit.
Choose Your Starting Point
Three pathways, all beginning with a conversation.
Parent intake, a clinical assessment of your child, and a feedback session to build your plan together.
The assessment informs session length, pacing, and approach so every session that follows is more effective from day one.
Share what brought you here, reflect on what's shaped you, and co-develop a care plan suited to your goals.
Solution-Focused Psychotherapy Session (for individuals aged 8+)
Not ready to commit to ongoing therapy? That's completely understandable. A single session is a low-pressure way to experience what therapy at Healing Notes Therapy actually feels like.
Some people find one session is enough. Others decide they want to have a follow-up session or commit to have more sessions. Either way, you leave with something useful and the decision stays entirely yours.
Personalized Therapy that Moves with You
Grounded in evidence, enriched by creativity.
Sessions are built around your goals and adapted as you grow, weaving culture-centred adaptation and evidence-based care into an approach that fits who the client is.

No, a referral is not required. You are welcome to book directly through our online booking system or contact us through our contact form or email at info@healingnotes.ca without a referral from your family doctor or any other healthcare provider.
However, if you feel it would be beneficial for another member of your child's care team (e.g. family doctor, pediatrician, psychologist, speech and language pathologist or occupational therapist) to initiate or coordinate the referral process, they are welcome to complete our referral form and submit it directly to info@healingnotes.ca.
-
It depends on your family's decision-making arrangements, and it is something we take seriously. Decision-making responsibility (formerly known as custody) determines who can legally consent to a child's healthcare, including therapy. We cannot accept a parent's self-claim of sole decision-making responsibility. Documentation such as a separation/divorce agreement or court order is required during intake.
Every family's situation is different, and if your child is 12 or older, their own willingness to participate is also taken into consideration.
If you have questions before booking, feel free to leave a message on our contact form. You can also reach out at info@healingnotes.ca or call (647)779-5216.

We see parents and caregivers as essential partners in the therapeutic process, not just observers. As the most important co-regulators in your child's life, caregivers play a key role in helping their child practice strategies, build new habits, and stay accountable between sessions. This applies to teenagers too, not just younger children.
Even when your child attends individual sessions, we encourage caregivers to stay connected to the process through regular check-in conversations or separate parent sessions with the clinician. The more engaged caregivers are, the more progress we tend to see.
It is truly our privilege to help each individuals like yours overcome their struggles and feel better. It's never too early or too late. Reach out to see how we can support you or your family.
