Our Values and Story

I want a space where I can express myself beyond words.

I have been yearning for the support of someone who gets it, someone who gets me.

Someone who understood masking.

Someone who had walked through burnout.

Someone who knew the mix of confusion, relief, and doubt (and everything in between) that comes with discovery.

Someone who can support me to explore my neurodivergence and what it meant to me.

When Words Are Not Enough

We believe therapy begins when individuals are met in their full humanity, beyond words alone. We honour each person’s cultural background, sensory needs, neurological differences, and unique ways of communication. Here, expression is welcomed not only through language(s), but also through creativity, movement, arts, and music.

A tuning guitar, a cup of black coffee on a white saucer, and white over-ear headphones connected to a white cable on a textured light gray surface.
A young woman with shoulder-length dark hair sitting on a black chair near a large window with sheer curtains. She is wearing a loose white t-shirt and gray socks, looking out the window in a bright, minimalistic room with a white sofa and wooden flooring.

Some experiences live beyond language. They are felt in the body, in exhaustion, in holding back, in the quiet effort it takes to be understood.

At Healing Notes Therapy, we recognize how often people are asked to translate themselves. Immigrants, children of immigrants families, neurodivergent children and adults navigate systems not built with their minds in mind. Parents with neurodivergent child carry the ongoing weight of advocacy. Neurodivergent individuals learn to mask before they learn to rest. Immigrants and culturally diverse individuals grow tired of explaining cultural gaps that words cannot fully bridge.

Even when identity is spoken aloud, language can feel limited, or empty when it is not truly received.

This is a space where you do not need to shrink yourself to be understood.

You are invited to be your true authentic self.
